Rajgad Dnyanpeeth Technical Campus Polytechnic Library (RDTCP) was established in 2011 by Rajgad Dnyanpeeth (RD-Bhor). The college Library is the heart of institution providing adequate services to the user. The main purpose of library is to freely disseminate knowledge, support teaching, research and academic activities and ignite the minds of youngster studying in our college. Location:-Main Building 1st Floor.


Library as a Learning Resource

Books are friends to all intellectual people. Libraries are the temples for civilized societies. Library plays a very important role in the curricular development & to satisfy the readers thirst for knowledge. RDTC Polytechnic College library is to participate actively in the educational mission of the college through collection and dissemination of information to meet the curricular and general needs of the students, faculty and staff.

Library also plays a vital role in acquisition, organization and dissemination of knowledge. RDTC Polytechnic College library system supports the teaching-learning program of institute. RDTC Polytechnic College library has an exceptional collection of text books, reference books, general books, journals and magazines, bound volumes, CD-ROMs, online resources and other reading material. Books are classified according to the Dewey Decimal Classification Scheme. It has excellent infrastructure to meet its requirements, all its operations are computerized using Autolib software and provides access to the collection through OPAC. RDTC Polytechnic College library follows open access system that allows users a direct access to the library collection. using anti plagiarism software for research scholars, book issue return through barcode scanner etc.

Library has 1184 book titles, 6328 volumes, 30 national journals and 12 International Journals.

It has specialized collections of Books, Journals & other resources in Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Biotechnology, Science & Humanities and Management.

The collection includes books, back volumes, NPTL Database, DELNET E-resources, CDs\ DVDs.

The Central Library subscribes to national and international journals in print and e-Journals. The Library also has membership of other libraries of reputed Organizations like Jaykar Library, British Library etc for the benefit of the staff and students.

Vision

The Central Library aims at an Excellent Storehouse of knowledge by providing an easy access to information resources for Technical learning and Research community.
Mission

The mission is to provide college students with the information they need to achieve their highest academic potential and help them acquire research skills necessary for lifelong learning.
To support teaching faculty and administrative staff and to participate in interactive information to exchange within the wider library/ education community.
Objectives

To develop and enhance the capability of the library resources and services.
To establish a computer infrastructure of all library operations and services by acquiring library computer software.
To provide services that enhance the quest for knowledge and intellectual activity.
To create various bibliographies and library path finders for easy access and retrieval of information.
To create an atmosphere wherein students and faculty may carry on the learning process enjoyable.

Services Offered by Library

The library provides both demanding and anticipatory library services to the users. The services provided are:
1. Digital Library Service: Library has a separate digital Library . Apart from books it has a huge collection of Audio video material, CD’s & DVD’s.
2. Newspaper Clipping Service: Latest news about college is preserved in the library in the form of clippings.
3. Referral Service: Referral service is also provided by Professionally Qualified staff of library.
4. Lending service: Books are issued to all students and faculty of the institute. The numbers of books issued are based on the category of the user. Students can keep the books for 07 days.
5. Reference service: Reference service is provided for queries from the available reference sources. Sometimes the users may be directed to sources available in libraries of other institutes.
6. Current awareness service: This service is provided through the display of new books in new arrivals rack.
7. Photocopying service: Journal articles and other materials that are not lent out can be photocopied for a nominal charge.
8. Inter library loan service: Books/journal articles that are not available in our library can be procured from DELNET or other libraries
9. CD/ROM service: Library also maintains the CD’s received along with the books. The users can get them copied.
10. Newspaper service: Library subscribes 06 daily newspapers for the benefit of its users.
11. Question paper service: Question papers of all the engineering examinations conducted by Savitribai Phule Pune University.
12. Internet service: All the reading halls of the central library are enabled and students can use their laptops in the reading halls for accessing the online documents subscribed by the library.

Library Rules

1. Enter the names in entry register compulsory.
2. Keep your personal belongings at the Property Counter.
3. Institute ID –Cards is must for Library transaction.
4. Duplicate library card will be issued against fine of Rs. 25.
5. Use of mobile phones is not permitted in the library.
6. The Library remains open on MON – SAT: 09.45 AM – 05.15 PM. Changes, if any, in the timings will be notified whenever necessary.
7. Please maintain decorum, peace and silence within the premises of library.
8. Please handle Library materials with utmost care.
9. No material from the Library should be taken out without proper issuing/recording.
10. Reference materials such as dictionaries, handbook etc. is not issued out of the library.
11 Do not mark or write anything in books.
12. Check the book at the time of issuing. In case of any defect or damage please inform the library staff.
13. The last date stamp below a fine of Rs. 2 for the first four days will be charged and thereafter 5 Rs. per day..
14. In case of lost or damage of books, replacement of book has to be made by the user.
15. Any type of violation may lead to a disciplinary action.
